Honeywell Technologies Process Technology Executive Visits Offshore Oil Engineering

Time:2026-08-31 Browse: 0

August 24, 2026

Honeywell Technologies’ Process Technology business recently visited Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. (COOEC), with both sides holding discussions on potential cooperation in several industrial technology areas.

According to COOEC, Matt Spalding, Vice President and General Manager of Honeywell Technologies’ Process Technology business, led a delegation to visit the company on August 24. Wang Dayong, Vice President of COOEC, met with the visiting delegation.

The two sides held in-depth discussions focusing on centrifugal compressors, skid-mounted membrane decarbonization systems and modular applications.

Discussions Focus on Process Technology and Modular Solutions

The meeting highlighted several technologies relevant to offshore engineering and process industries.

Among the key topics was the application of centrifugal compressors. Compressor systems are widely used in oil and gas processing, gas transportation and other industrial processes where reliable compression and continuous operation are essential.

The two companies also discussed skid-mounted membrane decarbonization systems. Skid-mounted process equipment can integrate multiple components into a compact, pre-engineered package, helping simplify transportation, installation and commissioning in industrial and offshore environments.

Modularization was another major topic of the discussions. Modular process systems are increasingly used in offshore engineering and large industrial projects because equipment and process units can be assembled and tested before being transported to the final installation site.

Honeywell Process Technology and Industrial Automation

Honeywell Technologies' Process Technology business is part of its broader Process Automation & Technology organization. The company's industrial automation portfolio covers process control, safety, measurement, industrial software and related technologies used in process industries.

For offshore oil and gas applications, process automation and control technologies play an important role in monitoring equipment, managing production processes and maintaining safe and reliable plant operations.

The discussions with COOEC also reflect the increasing importance of integrating process equipment with modular engineering approaches. For offshore facilities, compact equipment packages and standardized modular systems can be particularly valuable where installation space, transportation and project schedules are major considerations.

Potential Areas for Further Cooperation

The August 24 meeting focused on technical and business cooperation in centrifugal compression, membrane-based decarbonization and modular applications. The publicly available information does not indicate that a specific commercial contract or project agreement was signed during the visit.

Nevertheless, the areas discussed are closely connected with ongoing trends in the offshore engineering and process industries, including process efficiency, carbon reduction, equipment integration and modular plant design.

For industrial automation companies, system integrators and equipment suppliers, these developments are relevant because the modernization of offshore and process facilities increasingly requires coordination between process equipment, automation systems and packaged modular solutions.

As the offshore oil and gas industry continues to explore lower-carbon technologies and more efficient engineering methods, cooperation between process technology providers and engineering companies could create opportunities for the deployment of integrated equipment and automation solutions.
