HANGZHOU, China, October 23, 2026 — Hangzhou Zhongheng Electric Co., Ltd. (SZSE: 002364) and ABB China’s Electrical business held a ceremony in Hangzhou to mark the tenth year of their strategic partnership, under the theme “A Decade Together, Powering the Future.” The renewed agreement reinforces their commitment to technical collaboration, product development, and business cooperation, with a particular focus on 800V high-voltage direct current (HVDC) technology and power infrastructure for AI data centers.
The ceremony was attended by Zhongheng Electric Vice Chairman and President Xu Feifei, Chief Strategy Officer of its International Business Unit Zhu Yikun, ABB Electrification China Senior Vice President and Head of the Smart Buildings business unit Zou Enchang, and ABB Electrification China Senior Vice President and Head of Marketing and Sales for Smart Buildings and Smart Power Cao Yang. Zhu Yikun and Cao Yang signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

As global demand for AI computing capacity continues to grow, data centers face increasing requirements for power delivery, energy efficiency, and equipment integration. High-density computing infrastructure is placing greater emphasis on power distribution architectures capable of supporting high power loads while maintaining reliable operation.
During the meeting, Zhongheng Electric and ABB exchanged views on industry trends, product co-development, and strategic coordination. Both parties identified 800V HVDC technology as an important area for continued cooperation, alongside broader collaboration in AI data center infrastructure (AIDC) and power distribution.
Their planned cooperation aims to advance DC power architectures that combine high energy efficiency with high power density. The two companies also intend to strengthen coordination across the value chain and develop end-to-end solutions for customers, supporting the evolving requirements of AI computing facilities and next-generation infrastructure.
The companies acknowledged that the expansion of DC power systems also brings technical challenges, including technology evolution and adaptation to different application environments. Continued engineering collaboration and application-specific development will therefore remain important to translating emerging power architectures into practical deployments.
At the ceremony, Xu Feifei highlighted the significance of the long-standing relationship and Zhongheng Electric’s strategic direction in the AI era.
He stated that Zhongheng Electric is accelerating its “All in AI” strategy and developing its vision of a “Power Factory” for the AI era. He expressed the company's expectation that continued cooperation with ABB would help both parties capture opportunities arising from changes in computing and energy infrastructure.
Zou Enchang noted that the two companies had strengthened mutual trust and worked together to address industry challenges over the past decade. ABB plans to continue deepening collaboration with Zhongheng Electric in areas including 800V HVDC technology, with the objective of developing more efficient and reliable solutions for customers.
The renewed agreement covers strategic objectives, technical roadmaps, and cooperation mechanisms, providing a framework for the next stage of joint development.
The strategic partnership milestone was also connected to wider industry cooperation.
On the afternoon of October 23, Zhongheng Electric joined ABB and other ecosystem partners in establishing an AIDC DC Power Ecosystem Alliance at the 2026 Global Smart Energy Ecosystem Development Summit, themed “AI × Energy: Powering the Future.”
The initiative reflects growing industry interest in DC power infrastructure for AI computing applications. As data center power requirements evolve, cooperation among power equipment manufacturers, technology providers, and infrastructure developers can help address system integration challenges and accelerate the development of suitable power solutions.
The companies also participated in Zhongheng Electric’s 30th-anniversary celebrations, marking both the company's corporate milestone and the beginning of the next decade of strategic cooperation.
The renewed cooperation highlights several developments relevant to industrial power and electrical equipment markets.
First, AI data centers are increasing demand for advanced power distribution infrastructure. Electrical equipment selection is becoming increasingly important to system reliability, operational efficiency, and the management of high-density power loads.
Second, the development of 800V HVDC architectures is bringing greater attention to DC power conversion, distribution design, protection strategies, and the integration of electrical equipment. Actual system performance depends on the complete architecture, component compatibility, operating conditions, and application requirements.
Third, strategic collaboration between power infrastructure providers can support coordinated engineering and solution development. For industrial equipment buyers, data center operators, and system integrators, these developments make it increasingly important to evaluate equipment at both the component and system levels.
The October 23 agreement does not, by itself, establish specific product launch dates, delivery commitments, or quantified efficiency improvements. Further technical and commercial details will be needed to assess the implementation of future joint solutions.
The renewed strategic partnership between Zhongheng Electric and ABB reflects a shared focus on AI computing infrastructure, DC power technology, and the evolution of electrical distribution systems. Building on their decade-long relationship, the two companies plan to deepen cooperation in 800V HVDC technology and AIDC applications while exploring opportunities for broader ecosystem development.
As AI infrastructure continues to evolve, advances in power conversion and distribution will remain an important consideration for data center operators, electrical engineers, and industrial automation professionals seeking reliable and energy-efficient power solutions.
