ABB is providing electrical and automation solutions for a 20-high precision reversing rolling mill project, helping enable high-quality production of advanced titanium materials in China.

Technical Capabilities of the Rolling Mill

The new 20-high rolling mill is designed to:

  • Process strip widths up to 650 mm

  • Support titanium and titanium alloy grades including TA1, TA2, TA4, TA18, TC4

  • Also process nickel, nickel-based alloys, and specialty steels

  • Achieve final thickness range from 0.03 mm to 0.5 mm

The production line is capable of handling a wide variety of thicknesses, widths, and material grades, enabling flexible and diversified manufacturing output.
