ABB today announced a major innovation in pH/ORP measurement: the 500 X sensor, designed for the most demanding industrial conditions. Traditional pH/ORP sensors often fail within hours or days under extreme conditions due to reference electrode poisoning. The 500 X sensor employs a patented design that provides resistance to poisoning and contamination, delivering dramatically extended operational life. Customer evaluations indicate that in tests under extreme temperature and pH conditions, the 500 X sensor lasts up to 10 times longer than conventional sensors.
The 500 X sensor integrates seamlessly with ABB transmitters via the EZLink™ digital platform, providing plug-and-measure functionality. Paired with the recently launched AWT424 transmitter, users can access measurement data, diagnostic information, audit trails, software updates, and sensor details via the EZLink™ Connect app on a smartphone, simplifying setup and ongoing maintenance.
The 500 X is the latest addition to ABB’s digital and analog pH/ORP sensor portfolio, continuing the series’ distinctive color-coding design that helps users quickly select the ideal sensor for specific process conditions.
