Brand & Origin: Honeywell (USA/Global)
Honeywell has officially introduced its Hybrid Heating Solution, offering industrial manufacturers an automated and flexible alternative for process heating. By integrating traditional natural gas and electricity in industrial heating processes, the solution enables manufacturers to optimize operational efficiency, reduce energy costs, and lower carbon emissions.
Automated Energy Switching: Real-time control allows manufacturers to seamlessly switch between natural gas and electric energy during industrial heating, reducing reliance on a single fuel source and optimizing energy costs.
Flexible Integration: The solution can be deployed within existing plant infrastructure and supports up to 30% instant electric heating capacity.
Predictive Diagnostics & Remote Monitoring: Enhances operational visibility and management accuracy, helping manufacturers proactively address maintenance and efficiency challenges.
Industry Applications: Suitable for automotive, building materials, food & beverage, and other high-energy-use industrial sectors.
“Hybrid heating solutions provide industrial energy-intensive companies with a practical pathway not only to ease grid pressure but also to accelerate global energy transition,” said John Villali, Senior Research Director at IDC Energy Insights. “By leveraging electricity, including renewable energy, throughout the supply chain, companies can play a critical role in meeting decarbonization goals while reducing dependence on fossil fuels.”
Tim Lee, President of Honeywell Thermal Solutions, added, “Manufacturers today face rising energy costs, restrictions on fossil fuel usage, and the need to improve production efficiency. By combining traditional energy sources with electricity, including renewables, Honeywell provides a flexible and implementable decarbonization pathway that directly addresses these industry challenges.”
For manufacturers with on-site wind, solar, or energy storage systems, the Hybrid Heating Solution allows, within regulatory compliance, the use of renewable energy to further reduce carbon emissions in the heating process.
The Honeywell Hybrid Heating Solution is now commercially available. Following successful pilot tests, it has been implemented across multiple manufacturing sectors, helping companies achieve both operational efficiency and sustainability goals.
