Bombardier CEO: Honeywell’s Aerospace Spin-Off Positive for Supply Chain

Time:2026-05-19 Browse: 1

Bombardier CEO Éric Martel has described Honeywell’s plan to spin off its aerospace division into an independent company as a positive signal for the supply chain. He also noted that the American engine and avionics supplier has improved performance over the past year.

“This is their decision, but I have always preferred more focused businesses,” Martel told reporters following Bombardier’s quarterly earnings announcement. “We see this as very positive.”

Airframe manufacturers and major aerospace suppliers have observed signs of supply chain recovery, though bottlenecks persist due to material and labor shortages. With companies like Boeing, Airbus, and defense contractors simultaneously ramping up production, supply chain health remains under close scrutiny.

Honeywell’s aerospace division is scheduled to spin off as an independent company on June 29. Earlier this year, the division faced supply chain challenges affecting key products, including engines.

The spin-off is part of Honeywell’s broader strategy to separate into three independent companies focusing on automation, aerospace, and advanced materials. Prior to the split, Honeywell will divest certain assets. The company now expects to complete the spin-off in Q3 2026, ahead of its original timeline. Post-separation, Honeywell Aerospace will operate as a large, independent company dedicated to aerospace and defense.
