According to the China National Intellectual Property Administration, Schneider WEG (Tianjin) Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd. has applied for a patent titled “Self-Powered Module for Automatic Transfer Switch” (Publication No. CN121840875A), with the application filed in December 2025.

The patent discloses a self-powered module designed for automatic transfer switches, featuring:

• a microprocessor unit;

• a sampling unit connected to the microprocessor for real-time acquisition of electrical parameters from at least two input power sources;

• a contactor array comprising multiple contactors, each receiving an individual input power source, with outputs connected in parallel to the module’s power output;

• control signal outputs from the microprocessor to the contactor coils;

• a position feedback unit monitoring the actual position of each contactor and feeding status signals back to the microprocessor.

The module supports up to four input power sources, significantly improving system redundancy. It also features a PC-based visual configuration interface for flexible definition of power selection logic and a modular architecture that overcomes the size limitations of traditional integrated power solutions while adapting to complex conditions without external power supply.
