DAVOS, Switzerland, June 2026 — At the 2026 Summer Davos Forum, Yu Feng, President of Honeywell Greater China, shared key insights on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in industrial manufacturing, emphasizing that AI adoption must focus on real-world value creation rather than technological experimentation alone.
Yu stated that companies worldwide are investing significant time, resources, and capital into AI technologies, but without measurable economic returns, AI systems risk becoming “expensive experimental tools.”
According to Yu Feng, the core challenge of AI implementation in the real economy is not whether the technology is intelligent enough, but whether it can generate tangible industrial value.
He emphasized that AI deployment in manufacturing should follow three key principles: safety and reliability as the baseline, proactive adoption as the mindset, and value creation as the ultimate goal.
“Safety and reliability are the foundation. Active adoption is the attitude. Economic benefit is the purpose,” Yu noted during the interview.

Yu highlighted the importance of approaching AI in industrial environments with caution and respect for operational risks. Manufacturing systems require stability, security, and predictability, making responsible AI integration essential for long-term success.
He stressed that enterprises should avoid over-investment in AI technologies that lack clear application scenarios or measurable productivity improvements.
Discussing Honeywell’s long-term strategy, Yu reaffirmed strong confidence in the Chinese market, particularly over the next three to five years.
“We remain consistently optimistic about China. This confidence is not blind optimism, but one built on solid fundamentals,” he said.
Honeywell continues to focus on digital transformation, industrial AI applications, and energy transition opportunities in China, aligning its strategy with the country’s manufacturing modernization and sustainability goals.
As AI becomes increasingly integrated into industrial automation, Honeywell emphasizes practical deployment across sectors such as energy, manufacturing, and process industries. The company aims to support customers in improving efficiency, safety, and operational intelligence through data-driven technologies.
Yu’s remarks reflect a broader industry trend: while AI is rapidly transforming industrial systems, its success depends on measurable improvements in productivity, cost efficiency, and system reliability.
