July 31, 2026Schneider Electric has announced that its Beijing campus has been recognized as a global Sustainability Lighthouse Factory, highlighting its achievements in sustainable manufacturing, digital transformation, and industrial decarbonization.

The Beijing campus, established in 1997, has implemented more than 50 advanced technology solutions to improve production efficiency and environmental performance. By integrating artificial intelligence (AI), simulation technologies, and digital platforms, the facility has achieved significant progress in green product innovation, energy efficiency optimization, supply chain decarbonization, and special gas recycling.

As a leading industrial automation and energy management company, Schneider Electric continues to accelerate the development of smart factories by combining digital technologies with sustainable manufacturing practices. The Beijing campus demonstrates how intelligent automation, data-driven operations, and low-carbon solutions can support both business growth and environmental goals.

According to Schneider Electric, the Beijing site has deployed more than 50 sustainability-focused use cases, including SF₆-free product design, supplier decarbonization programs, AI-enabled energy optimization, and SF₆ circularity initiatives. These measures have helped reduce Scope 1 emissions by 65%, eliminate Scope 2 emissions, reduce Scope 3 emissions by 43%, and improve energy efficiency by 36%.

The recognition further strengthens Schneider Electric’s global leadership in sustainable manufacturing. The company currently operates multiple Global Lighthouse factories worldwide, including several Sustainability Lighthouse facilities, and has established four differentiated Lighthouse factories in China covering various areas of industrial innovation and digital transformation.

Alongside the Sustainability Lighthouse recognition, Schneider Electric introduced its new Impact 2030 sustainability roadmap, which focuses on accelerating electrification, reinventing industry, developing human potential, and supporting local communities. Under the plan, Schneider Electric aims to achieve a 90% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from its own operations by 2030.

For the industrial automation sector, Schneider Electric’s Beijing campus represents a practical example of how automation equipment, energy management systems, industrial software, and digital manufacturing technologies can work together to create more efficient and sustainable production environments.

The latest achievement reflects the growing trend of global manufacturers investing in smart factory technologies, energy optimization, and carbon reduction strategies. As industries worldwide move toward greener production models, Sustainability Lighthouse factories are becoming important benchmarks for the future of intelligent manufacturing.
